This collection contains the records for The Collegian from 1922 to 1924. They are mostly financial records and correspondence regarding advertising and sales. There are also several small sketches for the magazine.

Copyright has been assigned to Washington College. All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the Archives and Special Collections. Permission for publication is given on behalf of Washington College as the owner of the physical items and as the owner of copyright in items created by the donor.

Organizational History

The Collegian was the first student publication by Washington College. The first issue was printed in February 1898. It was published monthly and continued until 1930, when it was renamed The Elm. The Elm continues today as the student newspaper for the college. In 1989, the Collegian was reborn as a student-run liberal arts journal.
