Biographical Information

Robert Wilbur Farr (1908-2000) was born in Parsons, West Virginia on July 29, 1908, to George W. Farr and Grace B. Young Farr. The family later moved to Millington, Maryland. He graduated Washington College in 1929. He was a member of the Adelphi Literary Society and the Y.M.C.A. His nickname was “Radio,” he brought a radio to campus and tried to get broadcast from all over the world. He also ran a small business from his Middle Hall dorm room pressing clothes. After Washington College he attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and became a physician, setting up his practice in Chestertown. He married Elsie Ebswoth, and they had a daughter, Joyce. His sister Mary Farr Heeg also graduated from Washington College, class of 1933. Robert passed away July 29, 2000, at Heron Point in Chestertown.
