Organizational History

The Washington College Boarding Club was formed in the Fall of 1891; its goal was to furnish students with quality food at cost. It was managed by both the administration and the students. Items were purchased for a commissary with regular inventory. Every student with a room at the college paid into the club. By the end of the 1920s, it began to form into the meal plan students are familiar with today.
