Scope and Content Note This collection contains letter books, lectures, and essays kept by Peregrine Wroth. Many of the letter books have the name of his wife, Margaret Nicols, on the inside cover. There are several books of his lectures while teaching chemistry at Washington College as well as a scholarly publication of Wroth’s on Bilious Fever. Samuel T. Rogers letter

Scope and Content Note This collection contains a letter from Samuel T. Rogers of Bridgeport Connecticut to L. Wethered Barroll dated February 18, 1910. Barroll befriended Rogers while studying at Yale. Barroll was a Chestertown native and Rogers served as professor and Vice President of Washington College. The letter talks of Rogers health and goes on to discuss the issues of tariffs as they relate to politics of the time, this is shortly after the Payne-Aldrich Tariff Act of 1909. It was drawn on the back of stationary from the Voshell House, proprietor George E. Lambert, Chestertown, Maryland. It is undated and unsigned but based on the notation of Bunting Hall and William Smith Hall as future buildings puts it around 1903.
