Organizational History Note
The Silver Pentagon Society was organized in 1926 as an honorary leadership society. It was chartered as a Blue Key Fraternity in 1928 but resigned in 1933. Membership is carefully governed with admittance to students who exemplify Leadership, Tradition, Fidelity, Friendship, and Education. These are represented in the five-sided winged pentagon insignia. The society was part of the Student Government Association. All students and alumni are eligible to wear the bonze pentagon. The representatives selected for the Silver Pentagon could wear the silver pentagon and awarded the Gold Pentagon for outstanding achievement, one of the College’s highest honors. Another of the society’s tasks was to oversee the funding to all the clubs at the college.
