This collection contains an account book kept by the Pearce family. James A. Pearce, Sr.'s correspondence with other politicians regarding slavery in Maryland and the lead up to the Civil War. James A. Pearce, Jr.’s lecture notebooks while at Princeton University, correspondence, and a scrapbook he kept of the 1896 presidential election.
William Price Civil War diary
This collection contains the diary William Price kept during the Civil War. Along with handwritten entries, there are newspaper articles pasted in. Some are wartime reports others are published accounts of Price’s remarks. Price’s son Benjamin was enlisted with Company A of the 13th Maryland Regiment. He enlisted when he lived in Chestertown.
