Dudley Reed negatives
Scope and Contents Note
This collection contains large and medium-format black-and-white negatives of various events. Those taken for the college include commencements and awards, John F. Kennedy’s campaign visit, and photographs of Charles Downs. Other images of events and people in Chestertown and the surrounding area were taken, most likely for the Kent News.
This collection is organized by subject.

Biographical Information
Louis Dudley Reed (1917-1988) was born October 1st in Chestertown, Maryland to Charles (1869-1935) and Susie McDaniel Reed (1877-1944). He worked as a typesetter and later as a photographer. Many of his pictures were used for the Kent County News. Reed passed away on May 27, 1988.
